Steve was trying to concentrate on his work but, admittedly, he was incredibly frustrated, agitated and just generally not a very happy guy. Ever since he and Miranda had broken up - had it really been six months already? - he just wasn't interested in dating or even the potential of a new relationship.

He had been fixed up on a few blind dates by well-meaning friends. The women had been nice enough, pleasantly attractive and he'd enjoyed their time together. But no one seemed to have Miranda's ability to drive him into an instant frenzy of passion... no one made him feel so incredibly attractive, so wanted. Miranda had been the best lover his bedroom had ever hosted and Steve knew it. Not having her in his life anymore created an incredible void and he was getting incredibly tense from the lack of physical intimacy and release with another person.

However, in spite of the physical needs, Steve didn't feel any emotional attraction to the women he'd dated since Miranda. He knew it was a matter of time before he got over her but it was still frustrating. One of his colleagues, probably in response to his foul mood swings, suggested that Steve look into some dating websites.

"Dating websites??" he'd questioned, somewhat offended that anyone thought of him as needy. "Yes, dating websites," his colleague had stressed, "I've met some gorgeous, interesting women that way! You really need to give it some consideration. You seem like you could use a bit of... well... stress relief." The two men had sort of chuckled at their moment of male bonding.

Steve had never thought about trying to meet someone online. It seemed kind of impersonal. However, during a conversation with a buddy over a Friday night beer, it came to light that the friend had also met a really hot woman online. He went on and on about how gorgeous she was and how "friendly" she had been, right from the start. Again, the quiet masculine chuckles and the knowing looks were exchanged. Well, if nothing else, these dating websites seemed to be a way to find some great company. So, Steve vowed to give them a try.

So, today, in his agitated state at the office, he decided to do a little surfing. He pulled up a couple of the sites that his friends had recommended and, after doing a little reading, he decided to create a profile on one of them. In the simple motion of clicking the "join now!" button, Steve was at once letting go of Miranda and opening himself up to the possibilities of the future. He had to admit that, finally, he was finding something very intriguing and exciting - and it felt terrific.
